A truck driver in Missouri never would have guessed that he would be the one to save someone’s life and win their heroism when he pulled over to rest.
A starving stray dog got up on the window of his vehicle as he was about to take a little break and continue with his work.
The driver was devastated to see the dog’s terribly dejected expression and his desperate state. His ribs were visible, his skin was red, and there wasn’t much fur on him. The good-hearted man was committed to supporting the dog.
Rescuing Artie
Despite his challenging circumstances, the doggo—later called Artie—was incredibly amiable.
On social media, the truck driver requested assistance. After seeing his message, the employees of Rescue One, an animal rescue in Springfield, Missouri, pledged to adopt the puppy.
The kind driver remained with the dog until personnel collected him. The dog was adopted into a foster family shortly after coming to the rescue.
When his foster mother saw the state he was in, her heart fell. When he arrived at her place, Artie was so tired that he passed out in a chair.
After all he had been through, she thought Artie would be terrified and incredibly depressed, but he was the exact opposite. Teri was amazed by his extraordinary spirit.
“Even though it broke my heart, I knew he would be alright because of his happy, contented spirit as a dog.”
The dog began to heal gradually as Teri gave him the required love and attention.
Artie Transforms Into A Handsome Pooch
Artie developed feelings for Teri’s dog, Sugar. Initially, Artie had no response from Sugar, but he persisted in trying to win her over.
He was able to win her heart in the end. The two dogs were frequently spotted cuddling up to one another.
Artie’s eyes brightened, and he felt appreciated. There was no hint of melancholy.
His appearance drastically changed. As his fur thickened, he developed into a charming and plump puppy.
Teri was taken care of by Rescue One for six weeks before being placed in a loving home.
